He grew on me, but he was certainly a freak. The reason I say that is because this one was a little out there to me in certain parts but not so much that it stopped me from caring about Rhage and his story as well as everyone else involved. in a good and a bad way. Okay, this book was the next step to getting better in this series. very well written, suspense, the whole 8 and a half yards.
I can't get enough. What an excellent series. Straight onto book 3--though I have to get back to my life sometime. I read this book straight through--could not put it down. I cancelled all appointments, ignored my kids (kind of) and just enjoyed.
After many suggestions, I started the BDB series. ********Minor Spoiler Alert*****************My 2 issues with the series is that the "happy ending" happens literally at the end of the book. The story of Rhage was the one I wanted to read next, so I was excited to jump right into it. JR Ward creates a world that is not too fantastic but one you would like to step into to.
The 2nd issue is that I don't like the protagonist of the series. In this one it occurred on pg 237 out of 241. I would appreciate an Epilogue of some sort to finish it out. I almost skim over the parts of the book when it describes their side of the fight with the Brotherhood. I am hoping that they refer back to some of the relationships as I move through the series. I am on book two and love it.
So there isn't time to read about what happens with them after the "issue" is resolved. I am hoping to like it better or learn something more interesting, but for now, its the toughest part of the story for me.I still definitely love the series and highly recommend. I think what I like most about the story is the detail. I also love the relationship between the Brothers, which continues to develop as the stories progress.
Am I the only one left feeling like I was looking into the window while they danced; only to have them shut the blinds on me. She's again brought in another layer to the story by introducing us to Zsadist and Bella. Mary has a curse of her own, though not given by the Scribe Virgin. Of course, I'll be sticking around for the rest of the series. I have to admit, Rhage was not the Brother I wanted to hear from next but I'm glad I got to know him. J.R.
We're introduced to the only thing Rhage and the Beast can agree on, their need for Mary. While I am looking forward to their story, I'm left wondering what happened between Butch and Marissa. Ward's second installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood puts us face to face with Rhage and his alter-ego, the Beast. Ward delivered a wonderfully written page turner filled with enough sex and violence to keep us coming back for more. You had me at leelan. We find out why he's been cursed with the Beast by the Scribe Virgin as well as find out how much longer the curse will last.
She has cancer and isn't sure Rhage is really up to the task of caring for her while she undergoes treatment.
:) Great series. I must admit that I liked the first book, Dark Lover a little more than this one, but I'll still take one Rhage with a cherry on top to go, as well.
